Daphne Pickens (18) and Casey Murray (16) created a CD of original Folk music to raise money to build a concert hall: its purpose, to honor and remember their close friend, Eric Levy, who passed away unexpectedly in August. Eric was planning to become a music teacher.
As musicians who knew Eric became aware of the project, they wanted to become involved. Many of these diverse musicians will be represented at the event: Either performing live or through CD’s donated to the cause. Among them are classical musicians ‘The Ying Quartet’ and cellist Steven Doane; Fiddlers ‘Andrew and Noah VanNorstrand,’ ‘Confluence’, ‘Contranella’; the cello rock band ‘Break of Reality’; and the local 60’s girl group ‘It’s My Party.’ The Kanack School improvising tour group will also perform their new pieces, ‘Cinderella’, ‘Little Red Riding Hood’, ‘Rumplestiltskin’ and more.
