Music Alive Festival

The Music Alive Festival was enthusiastically received by all 75 participants. The weekend retreat was full of creative energy, fun fiddling, Rhythmic jazz, Suzuki play-ins and some wonderful performances by Megan Wobus and her newly formed band (currently recording their first CD) and Sera Smollen & Tom Mank performing titles off of their recent album. Kanack School students also enjoyed some wonderful pool parties and a delicious banquet with their new musical friends from Hochstein and Ithaca. (Hannah Robbins, a former Kanack School student even joined us from Nashville!) If you missed it this year, don’t worry. It looks likely to be an annual event!

The Lilac Festival

The string orchestra played Vivaldi's Spring from the Four Seasons. Soloists included Maeve O'Hara, Noah Fields, Michael Sabatka, Rachel Kurchin, and Shana Terho on violin; and Erin Scott, viola and Andrew Jones, cello. Other performances included the fiddle classes and the Suzuki violins playing the Bach Double Concerto.
